It is a story of alteration. Chapters are sewed together and laid out in an urban map inspired by his architectural background.

In Almost Transparent Blue, Efrain Vivas Hattori takes us on a thrilling road of textures, dimensions and colors. It is a story of alteration. Chapters are sewed together and laid out in an urban map inspired by his architectural background.

Exploring Rotterdam for the first time, Efrain’s new works are an experiment of collage. Using various materials and tools his works transfigured into something different yet identifiable.

An enchanting exhibition of chaos and structure; rough and organized, sober and explosive. Everything in a shade of almost transparent blue.

Born in Tokyo, Venezuelan/Japanse artist Efrain Vivas Hattori (1991) grew up in Caracas, surrounded by renown architects, photographers and artists. Mostly architecture he got to experience from close, as his father used to bring him to his office where he would draw along with him and the rest of the team.

As a teen he moved to Tokyo where he spent the rest of his childhood. Ever since coming of age he has been on the move, exploring various places, continents and the scope of his work.
